We use Chevereto for clients who have one album per property, in time the will have hundreds of albums under their user account. Current up to 70 albums. When we open the 'albums' screen, it is taking up to 2 minutes for the album's details/thumbnails to load. Note this is the only performance issue - for example, not a problem for clients with a small number of folders, or for direct access into a single folder (even if it has 100+ images in it).

Same issue on PC in Chrome, and on iPad in Safari (though slightly quicker). No impact from caching first, or clearing cache.

Hi,

The performance of the application is directly affected by your server setup and hardware capabilities and there are several components working at the same time that could be causing this.

Chances are that this is just due to either low server specs or bad server setup. Unfortunately, the analysis require to examine your installation directly (server access). If you are OK with that then send access to REDACTED

If you want to check the situation on your own, pay attention to the top command related to PHP/Server and try to isolate the problem (detect if the issue is PHP, DB, file delivery, etc.)

The slow performance reported is not on the backed of the software, but in the file delivery. You can corroborate it by opening the browser console, then go to the network tab.

You will see that the files delivered are small, but it takes a lot to display them. I guess that you run under a shared hosting account? You will experience this kind of slowness in these environments because the server resources are shared.

You should try using CloudFlare for your domain so the images will be delivered by CloudFlare and not your server.

Also, I recommend you to switch to listing mode=endless and list for 24-32 items (you currently list about 100).
