You can't map something to something.ext in Chevereto because the filenames in Chevereto are unique for filename + extension not filename alone.

In Chevereto you can have file.jpg, file.png, file.jpg etc.

Honestly you should not worry about this at all is just a file naming / URL convention. Flickr has is way, imageshack has is own way also, etc.

Chevereto has unique public ids like "ijK" which could be used to do this rewrite and it could be optional.
