Tried it with your sample file on an installation of mine.
It works wonderfully.

As @armory has already written, it is useful to look at the php error log file to get more details.
I have just tried you with several files, each in different formats and sizes.
Apparently you have a problem in connection with the size (dimension) of the respective file. But as I said, I do not have a detailed look into the error file.
