🎯Description of the issue

Trying to install Chevereto (Paid and/or Free) using installer.php and manual install methods fail with "Error preforming HTTP request." The webhost is a fresh install VM consisting of Ubuntu20.04, LAMP stack and everything else required for Chevereto only. I have attached a screen capture of the error.

▶🚶‍Reproduction steps
  1. Install using Ubuntu20.04 with default LAMP stack.
  2. Fill in proper account and sql database as required.
  3. Proceed and wait until installation halts at the "Error Preforming HTTP Request."
😢Unexpected result

Installation process halts and aborts.

📃Error log message

I have tried to look for a log but I am having trouble hunting down the "Error Preforming HTTP request". I have looked in cheverto's sub-directories [i.e app/install etc etc] but no .log file found?

Hi Redolfo,

Thank you for the link and I appreciate your time in helping me.

I assumed that where the installer.php halted, it indicated that all files have been successfully extracted. I read the link you provided and, with my limited knowledge, began to see if I can fix the issue. Following the suggestion to continue by running the installer.php from the /app/install directory, I am meat with a new error "This file can not be accessed directly." Thinking it was a permissions issue, I chmod 777 that entire Chevereto directory and reloaded apache2/php with no avail.

Any further guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again!

Instructions were a little vague. I thought you meant "continue at /install" as in the server directory itself, not from the browser. It's still giving me issues, however.

Nevertheless, I can't help to feel as though I'm wasting your time by asking for further help. Admittedly, I am but a novice, learning webdev, and I have a long way to go. As annoying as that may be to a well established professional, such as yourself, we all have to start from some where and ask all the same annoying questions.

As always, I thank you for your time and I apologize for apparently taking too much of it.

Please feel free to close the support ticket.
