Backing Up "Descriptions" data

I am spending quite a bit of time typing descriptions for each photo into the optional description field in the edit window. I am nervous about losing all of that work if my system crashes. Is there a way to back-up that description data so I can put it back if the system crashes or if I move to another hosting service?

You need to take regular database and files backups. Cpanel or any cloud provider have backup features that are easy to use.
To backup a dedicated server, you can use CRON + Rsync and AutoMySQLBackup.

All data handled by the application is stored in the sql database, if you backup your database you won't lost that data.
