Auto expire images stopped working

🎯Description of the issue

Auto expire images are no longer automatically deleting images. I tested on demo and its working. So this is something broken on my site.

The auto-expire was working until 2018 when I deleted a huge volume of images using SQL query to force expire. Only recently I noticed images as old as 2017 are still stuck with image expire date in past and new once are either working.

I checked the database query logs and I was not even able to find the query running for this. I would grateful if someone could point me in the right direction to troubleshoot this or if there are any logs.

  1. Uploaded an image with 5 mins expire time.

Image is still live even after several hours.

No errors in Nginx logs related to this.

Fixed it. There was an old lock file stuck in the lock directory. So new lock files were not getting created. Deleted delete-expired-images.lock from app/content/lock.

New delete-expired-images.lock files are now getting created and old expired images started getting deleted again.
