Amzon S3 https yes or no?

I can't find that permission screen... However, for public it should be only read.

No , it is not same.

Yeah well one says "http" and the other one "https". Use https if your website uses https, otherwise use http. The difference in speed is near ridiculous so is considered the same.

2 questions here.

1) does an image hosting site needs to be using https? If so, what benefits are there?
2) regarding S3 bucket, when setting external S3 storage... does Chrevereto assign the public read permission automatically when uploading or I have to manually change it on the S3 bucket? I think by default, S3 buckets are not public when created.

1) https is something that obviously you need to use if your website uses https. I won't dig on this, read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_Secure
2) Chevereto doesn't alter the bucket permissions, that is something that you must setup in Amazon. And I think that by default buckets are public, the thing that is private is when you upload a file using the Amazon console.
