the demo you posted has bugs too...i tested it many times and even up till today there are some real issues on it. the 2 systems should not be mentioned on the same page as in quality of script,coding and support they are far from each other
just an example : comment can randomly give you an error page, reply is sent but no refresh/indication so user is pressing button 10times,etc etc and these are the same for almost half a year if not more.
Chevereto is slowly (from some perspective) but steadily growing. if you just check the amount of updates and features that has been added in the same time you will see the difference. the communication bit has been talked about many times and there are priority bits that needs to be sorted out first. please be patient and grow your community. comment code can be added already like facebook for viral coomunication.

Actually thing is that commercial systems are driven by sales and Chevereto clients have a very clear preference on what things does matters most for them. I develop a system for my well-known audience and slowly but steady I'm able to extend this audience. Way I see it, I don't get nothing adding pale functionalities to the system just to fill a todo list like most of the competitors do and I prefer to take my time and develop amazing stuff.
At the end we trend to see software development fast/slow depending on how fast the functions that a given person wants are added or not and that is absolutely normal. Is normal to don't see how rich a software is becoming if none of the added features is something that a given person cares or realize how it will improve the system itself. I still remember how many persons where arguing that external storage wasn't needed.
But anyway, bottom line is that I've a job where is pretty hard to make everybody happy at the same time. I try but you know, is almost impossible. I bet that after the social stuff people will start to ask me to do a video to gif generator or anything new and fancy like that.
