Swap an image, retain the URL

Hi all - we use Chevereto to host images then use the resulting URL link in external applications. From time to time we need to update the image, which at the moment means - delete the old image; upload the new image; go to the 2x external adds, delete the old URL, add the new URL.

Anyone know a way to update an image, so it's a new image file but retaining the URL?

Or is the only way to do this at a database level - query, update somehow?

Keen to find a solution as costs us time (and is annoying)
