Well, i have hosting from my country (Croatia) and it's preddy good....
I paid only 40€ For whole year and i got everything unlimited exept sending emails per hour (I really don't care for that cuz my website don't have 2000 emails/hour (1 email per day makes me happy *__* xD)
anyway... it's very good... also they make now 2. website for get hosting on their website, you can check out

yea that's cheap because it's shared hosting, and you have no control over apache or php. however with a vps or dedicated server you do have complete control over the services you use, that's why it's more expensive and better than shared hosting.
of course VPS are much better but i didn't see ever unlimited disk space for VPS hosting plan.... that's the problem... I got image hosting by chevereto on my SUBDOMAIN
On main website i got file hosting (something similary to rapidshare, megaupload/which is not active anymore...))
That's why i need Unlimited disk space and bandwidth.....
Also php.ini must be custom available
I'm thinking about start my own server for one game (Tales OF Pirates) Then I'll need VPS, I'll have there problem too... cuz I'll need 6GB Ram memory to run all maps -.-'

tbh i would make a backup of everything as if your running a file hosting service and an image hosting service then im sure as soon as they find this out you account will be shut down.

I now.... but... if I am from croatia they always give me as many i need of anything because They don't have a lot of users of unlimited packige.....
And they got alot of servers for unlimited packige free....
and before i buy their hosting i ask them is allowd to make side like htto://interes.hr/ and images host http://i.interes.hr
And they said it's ok .... I ask them what's about this 5% of RAM cpu.... and so on
they said if you need your own server we can give you because we don't have eaven 20% used servers for our all unlimited packiges...
And if i need their one full server for unlimited packige I'll have to pay only 120€/year.... That weard but cool

I would be personally worried if my host told me that they don't even have used 20% of their servers, because they could run out of business anytime since they don't have enough customers to pay for their servers OR maybe they have cheap servers ^^
A good hosting company servers are expensive, I know the owner of Hosting24 (not IRL) and he pays around 2k USD for each of his hosting servers, and they also offer "unlimited" hosting, but there is no such thing as an unlimited package, there is always a limit.

I had host at hosting24 but their support team was slow .... and they cloudn't give me ( i don't remember exacly but i think MySql upgrade version or PHP upgrade version, i really don't remember.... And i didn't like that so i was my money back..... )

I can vouch for using intoVPS.com. I'm currently hosting http://upit.no/ there, and speeds + stability is awesome
