I noticed people love the fact Chevereto accomodates multiple users. I've done things slightly differently (I think/hope). I love the clean interface and I'm using it as my own photography showcase site. In a few private albums I upload stuff such as screenshots and processing examples for posting to internet forums (usually with BBCode) but also private images for sharing among friends and family via Facebook.

I tried to get to as bare-bones a look as I could to just allow my images to speak for themselves. The intent is also to maintain a stockpile of images in a private album from which I can curate an ever-changing selection into the public albums.

I installed Chevereto in a subdirectory of the domain I purchased because I also want to leave room for a webforum about my profession (Trade Compliance) and a 2021 Brexit blog.

Photo-Graphics Photographic images with a twist, decorative art on photographic basis, created with powerful open-source image processing software.

Its always nice to see Niche Websites based on Chevereto, and i rlly i like the simplicity of the website, but few things i would change to improve the page load: Check the PageSpeed Insights
Convert the Images in the Settings->Homepage->Cover Image
  1. convert all your Cover Images to WEBP format on https://convertio.co/png-webp/ and reupload the same images again in the WEBP format, otherwise u can use imagemin if you are similiar with it (developed by Google) to compress your images: https://web.dev/serve-images-webp/
  2. host your analytics.js and gtag.js locally
  3. and maybe better button on the landing page, something like this https://codepen.io/Grsmto/pen/RPQPPB there u have more of them
I have rlly enjoyed the Flower and the Animal images, keep it up, and have fun with the Software!

Thanks man! Great comment and glad you enjoyed it. I still have a lot to learn. Already implemented your tip #1, don't really know what to do yet on #2 (need some time to RTFM...) and looking at a cool button for #3

You are welcome sir, you are using Google Analytics, right?
Hosting Google Analytics locally can help speed up your site by reducing extra DNS lookups and resolving the ā€œleverage browser cachingā€ issue from their script. Ironically Googleā€™s own script throws a warning about caching, but this is because they have their HTTP caching header expiration set really short. When you host it yourself, your own CDN or serverā€™s HTTP caching headers will automatically be applied. In other words, you have full control over the caching of the script.
Hosting Google Analytics locally and serving the script from your own CDN or server also lets you take advantage of a single HTTP/2 connection.
There are tons of Plugins for different Content Management Softwares (CMS) for this, but in our case we arent using WordPress or anything else, so we should focus on other "tools", and there we have: GA-Lite (This project was first created to be a simple, cacheable alternative to Google Analytics to gain Google Page Speed test score of 100/100.)

P.S
And maybe you should setup Caching on the Webserver to get maximum out of your Website, i prefer these Setups:
(I guess u are actually on Apache WebServer)
LEMP (Nginx, PHP, MySQL)
OpenLiteSpeed web server (PHP, MariaDB)
Both Web Servers u have to set up from scratch on the clean Root Server by yourself, but if u want some GUI and more User Friendly Panel, then you can look for https://cyberpanel.net/ (1 domain can be hosted on 2GB Ram limit, based on OpenLiteSpeed), so i would more prefer Cheveretos Docs Version.

Anyway, have fun and best regards, keep it up.

I would suggest get cloud server since you will get root access so you can do more than about anything. I am running 16GB RAM and 8 Cores CPU cloud, works like breeze!

Dont bother getting control panel with crappy stuff. The reason I went with cloud because its pure Nginix with PHP/mySQL and Ubuntu the 64 bit version then I added CDN then soon S3. Works great!

But keep up the good work!

Why this confontational? Each to his own, I'd say. I actually don't want to manage a cloud server and I'm pretty happy with the "control panel with crappy stuff" my hosting provider puts up - that's how I found out about Chevereto to begin with.

Also, I have no trouble at all connecting my Dolphin file manager via FTP to my webspace so I can treat files as if they were local on my Manjaro desktop.
