How would I go about integrating image upload on my SMF Forum?

I have an Simple Machines Forum that I would like to add the features of image upload, and auto-post of the BBcode output to the message area. There are currently two mods like this for SMF forums seen below:

PostImage.org script that pops up in a separate frame when clicked, allows for image upload to their server, and then prints the BB code directly to the message box.

Simple Image Upload by Tectonny - The layout of this one looks extremely similar to Chevereto. Maybe the Tectonny site is a version of Chevereto, so I don't know. It looks like it opens up an upload frame directly on the forum reply page, and then prints the code to the message area.

I'm assuming that the key to using the Chevereto API file for this, but to be honest I don't know the slightest clue how to do so.
