Forum Suggestion

Hi,
So... I noticed that the demo is now running 3.4.4 🙂 (at this current time 3.4.4 isn't released) ... and I wanted to shout out the good news to someone, but I didn't want to post a whole new topic just because of that....
So I got thinking, maybe like a chatbox or something would be a good idea?

Something like this. (Just a quick Google search)

I then started to think that this would bring the community together better. We could have instant chat between users and have the ability to quickly solve smaller problems - such as simple css changes instead of the requirement of making a brand new topic. We could even just talk about random stuff - non Chevereto related.

I personally think it would make the community a better place, but that's just my opinion 🙂

Like I said at the start, I've noticed that the demo was running 3.4.4, so therefore as an example, I could jump into the chat and tell the others about it, "Look at the demo!! 3.4.4 incoming!!!" lol.
Maybe just having a mad moment 🙂

A concern would that that that would lead to rampant advertising and spam as well as a need to be constantly monitored.

just need a few moderators....i can check on stuff after work and sort of.... but its not needed coz in a forum ppl can actually search topics at least 🙂

Regarding the advertising, I presume you referring to advertising such as Viagra products and other random stuff like that... This could be easily be maintained as the chatbox would be for members of the forum only.
Creating a new member - just for advertising spam would be difficult, especially if there's some sort of captcha on the signup (Which I presume there is).
To be honest, any chatbox is subject to advertising such as this... It's quite easily manageable.
It was only an idea and I appreciate you commenting on the thread 🙂

I'm sure Rodolfo is far to busy working on the next release anyway rather than putting a chatbox on here 😛

Now, I mean from actual users not only the viagra-like spammers. Actualy users tend to spam more in a setting like this since they can just sign in post their link a bunch of times and leave. While this isn't a massive issue, it's a nuisance that I'm wondering Rodolfo would really want to deal with. I can't really imagine that people will spend much time in the chat anyway since the purpose of the site is pretty singular, support for one product. Most of what will be posted is a question and people leaving in 2 minutes when they don't get an answer.
