chmod(): Operation not permitted

I am trying to use a local folder for my photo storage. The server is Ubuntu and the local folder is a NFS share for another server on my network where I have more storage space. How can I get this to work?

Please make sure you have given written access to your web user. And so chevereto can upload the test file and then add it is as your storage.

That’s what’s crazy, www-data has ownership of the folder and I see cheverto has placed PNGs in the folder

Please ensure both UIDs and GIDs match in both servers that have to write.
