can't be deleted FTP

When performing an image deletion operation, despite receiving a successful deletion message, access to FTP still finds that the image has not disappeared.

is this when it deletes from local path or from external storage? If external storage make sure you set cron job to cli.php file so it can execute a process in deleting file.
