Use subdomain as image storage url?

Hi,

I got close to doing what I want by setting a subdomain where I directly storage images. Then enabled CDN on the subdomain. But then trying to figure out how to change it so I don't need an additional path for hotlink URL's.

Can anyone tell me the best way to accomplish this? I still want links to image pages to be the same.

Example:
http://i.domain.com/i/<direct_image_link> is currently what I would have to use with CDN enabled.
I want to be able to link images as:
http://i.domain.com/<direct_image_link>

Another thing is, for CDN enabled sites - how do you want content separated between the CDN and Main site?

Thanks,

I was able to get the desired result by adding external storage and creating an FTP account pointing to the path on the server I wanted to serve images from. https://i.domain.com

Then ran an SQL query to update the images external storage ID. Statistics for storage usage on the dashboard are off after that, but works how I want it now.
