I installed Chevereto Free in Ampps using Softaculous on Windows Server. The website functions perfectly fine as far as I can tell so far but when I try to upgrade the instance I am unable to. I am presented with a website that says it is unable to connect to the Chevereto API.

This connection is physically working as when I click the link in the error page and go to the API in a browser I am taken to a page that downloads a .JSON file.

Could you help please?

The connection between your device and the Chevereto server is not the same as the connection between your server and the Chevereto server. These are two different machines, and the connection is totally different.

The fastest way to deal with this is to proceed with manual update procedure (simply replace the system files) https://chevereto.com/panel/downloads

If you want to actually fix the problem, you need to provide me the connection error that you are experiencing. Chances are that the error is about connection refused (client), it could be something easy as a non-working DNS resolver in your machine, maybe some conflicts with SSL, etc.

Let me know if you need additional help.

Cheers,
Rodolfo.
