32,987 images

I have 32,987 images inside the /chevereto/images directory and I'm wondering if this could start to be an issue?
Recently api uploads are starting to time out with 502 errors.
I am wondering if perhaps I should create a new separate directory for images as the one I currently have as you can see is pretty full with 32,987 images.
The only thing I worry is if I start to use a new clean directory will the current images in the current directory still display?
Thanks

I have 1+ million images plus its thumbs in a single directory never had any issues. Only problem is 20 mins wait time for filezilla to open that directory. Anyway recommended approach is to move to external storage if you have lots of images.

It shouldn't be an issue at all, something else is broken in your server.

I meant to use a differnt API Key.

php -v command outputs

PHP 5.6.35 (cli) (built: Mar 30 2018 08:28:49)

with Xdebug v2.5.5, Copyright (c) 2002-2017, by Derick Rethans

Is the most up to date version of Chevereto compatible with that version of php, please?

You can set your server to only give back a certain amount of files, or to preindex the directory.

I have 1,600,000 images across 3 directories.
