Chevereto is a free script, written in php, that lets you set up your own image hosting on your web server. It is your hosting and your rules, say goodbye to the closures and restrictions. Currently the code is very tender, and is in its early versions. We invite you to collaborate on its development.
Comes from the popular expression "chévere" (slang for cool in spanish) which is usually used in parts of Latin America and the Caribbean. This word has the connotation of an adjective to be very good and excellent. With that in mind, Chevereto means "something that is chévere".
In October 2007 was released the version 1.0 of the GODLIKE image hosting, which come from beta period in March of that year. Although this service did not offer anything new, it offered a different concept -not known- for this type of service, with an extremely exciting user interface concept which led him to quickly earn a place.
The reached growing fame by GODLIKE meant a very large usage for him, which led to his death on October 28, 2008. It was preferred to end the service and continue his legacy with Chevereto instead of finding ways to monetize the service already extinct.
The legacy of the hosting that lasted a year (slightly more if we consider the beta) is now known as Chevereto.
This site and the image of Chevereto were made by Godlike Studio (commercial portfolio of the creator of the script). The font used in the logo is Script MT Bold and the beautiful icons that helps in the decoration comes from WebFunction.
