Better Title & Description

Hi,

As you are redesigning image uploader and looking into content into...
Would like to suggest you to include this as default to help optimize site for search (prevents duplicate titles and descriptions)

Home

Title: Website name - Website doctitle
Description: Website description

Image Viewer

Title: Image name - Website name
Description:
Image Description if exists {else if has album} Image name in Album name {else} Image name in Category name

User page

Title: UserName (username) on/- Website name
Description: User bio (adding one if exists) {else} UserName on Website name

Album

Title: Album name on Website name by UserName {else} Album name on Website name
Description: Album Description if exists {else} Album name - Website description

I think that this should be the correct thing:

Home
Title: Website name - Website doctitle
Description: Website description

Image Viewer
Title: Image name - Website name
Description: Image Description if exists {else if has album} Image name in *album_name* album {else if has category} Image name in *category_name* category { else } Image name hosted in *webstite_name*
Note: that image name will be always filled with the image title, if doesn't exists it will use the filename (filename.ext)

User page
Title: Real name (username) - Website name
Description: User bio (adding one if exists) {else} Real name (username) on Website name
Description (albums): Real name (username) albums on Website name
Note: Users bio will be added in 3.7

Album
Title: {if has user}Album name by Real name (username) - Website name {else} Album name - Website name
Description: Album description if exists {else} Album name on Website name

Now that we are improving this thing, I wonder how should be the descriptions for the rest of the pages like /page, /explore, search results, etc. I've noticed that 500px doesn't set a description for the explore page and I was wonder if someone has thoughts on that.

Hi Rodolfo, First of thanks for adding this into future release.

If the /page you are saying is about /page/privacy, /page/tos/ etc.... its better to see that it outputs

Title : Page name - Website name (no change needed)
Description: Page name - Website name (its better to keep it simple as we cant output same thing for everything)

And for page 1, 2, 3 etc its better to not touch it (even add no-index, follow tag if needed )

Explore pages

Overall

Title: Explore - Website name
Description: Explore website name for more (and more extra space if needed)

Most recent

Title: What's new / Recent - Website name
Description: Most recent on website name

Most Viewed

Title: Popular - Website name
Description: Most Popular/Viewed on website name

Oldest

Archive (cant think of a better one here... suggestions welcomed) - Website name
Description: Website name archive


Search pages (better not to touch description)

Overall search

Search term - Website name {or} Search term - Website name search

Image search

Search term - Images - Website name {or} Search term - Images - Website name search
